Timely Reflections

While They Were Sleeping…

While the Church Was Sleeping

Admittedly, it has been quite a while since I posted anything new of real substance here—the last two such items being Smoke and Mirrors in July 2020, and A Line and a Net in January 2021. In the former, given at the height of the pandemic and in the wake of George Floyd’s death and the ensuing riots, I warned the Church not to be misled by those events, as they were simply diversionary tactics of the devil designed to foster more division and strife in both the nation and the Church, disrupt the 2020 elections and usher in the globalists’ agenda, while camouflaging just how far Satan’s kingdom had been advanced in the world.

In the latter, given just two days before the infamous inauguration of Joe Biden, I warned that in anticipation of His coming judgment, God would be dropping a plumbline on the earth that would not only separate the righteous from the wicked, but it would also create a division within the righteous, revealing a Warrior Remnant[1] who was ready to do battle in the Spirit and advance the Kingdom of God.  Then, once His examination of the hearts of men and women at every level of life was complete, God would begin to draw up the wicked in the net that they had laid out for the righteous—which is what I believe we are in the throes of right now.

As for why I haven’t written anything else before now, shortly after publishing Smoke and Mirrors, my husband and I left all our family and friends and moved to an area six hundred miles away for his new job. Once here, it took us about six months to find a place to live (time during which I was able to publish A Line and a Net) and then many more months to get our household set up. Once everything was in order, I fully expected to receive some new instructions from the Lord, however none were forthcoming. After waiting a few months, I asked Him about it and this is the answer He gave me, “I haven’t had anything new to tell you.” With that, I knew we were in for a season of waiting, resting, and watching—waiting for new instructions, resting in the assurance that God had everything under control, and watching to see how the events leading up to the drawing in of the net would unfold.

Although there was no way to predict exactly how things would play out, what we have seen transpire in our country over the past three years has certainly confirmed the words that the Lord gave me back then. With the removal of Donald Trump from office and the installation of a mentally challenged and corrupt puppet in his place, it didn’t take long for the global power brokers to achieve their primary objectives…

The bankrupting of our economy;
The eradication of our borders; and,
The demoralization and decimation of our military and police forces.

These moves should have come as no surprise to those familiar with Bible eschatology, for they are necessary steps in the process of integrating the United States into the coming world government—the one over which Satan intends to rule and the one he is trying to usher in now.

But these aren’t the only major shifts we have witnessed recently. Seemingly emboldened by their successes in the aforementioned areas, those in power have been revealing more and more of their demonically inspired agenda through…

  • The takeover and control of the media, with its propagation of lies presented as truth;
  • The takeover and corruption of the public-school systems by Marxist/Socialist educators and the gay/trans community;
  • The takeover and weaponization of government agencies and departments; and,
  • The takeover and control of businesses by means of their ESG (environmental/social/governance) scores.

Add to these bribery, money laundering, drug trafficking, the sex trade, the exploitation of children—and the list goes on and on. Of course, none of these problems is new—they have been taking place right under our noses for years, carefully hidden from view, while most of us have been preoccupied with working, raising children, paying bills, and seeking the “good life” promised to us by the American dream.

Nowhere has this preoccupation been more evident than in the American Church, where for the past fifty-plus years its members have been safely sequestered behind it sacred walls, self-absorbed with their own concerns, while waiting for their escape from these problems to be made real by the return of Christ for His Church. In the meantime, due to this escapist mentality and their failure to act as the salt and light they were created to be, the culture has gone to hell in a handbasket, and we find ourselves in the deplorable condition that we are in today.

The pandemic should have been a loud wakeup call for the Church, especially when the very first places to be shut down were the churches. If they had been unaware of it before, this should have put them on notice that there was a very real and sinister plot afoot, one whose goal was nothing less than the destruction of the Church of Jesus Christ. That didn’t happen, though; as soon as the danger had passed, the fears had subsided, the churches had reopened, and everything had returned to “normal,” the majority of churches rolled over and went back to sleep—back to business as usual.

As for why, I think a reasonable explanation can be found in Matthew 13, in the Parable of the Wheat and Tares. This is one of several parables given by Jesus in that chapter, as He was teaching His disciples about the Kingdom of Heaven. Having just related the Parable of the Sower, Jesus…

…put before them another parable, “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; but while people were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, then went away. When the wheat sprouted and formed heads of grain, the weeds also appeared.

The owner’s servants came to him and said, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where have the weeds come from?’ He answered, ‘An enemy has done this.’

The servants asked him, ‘Then do you want us to go and pull them up?’  But he said, ‘No, because if you pull up the weeds, you might uproot some of the wheat at the same time. Let them both grow together until harvest; and at harvest time, I will tell the reapers to collect the weeds first and tie them in bundles to be burned, but to gather the wheat into my barn.’ ” Matthew 13:24-30.[2]

Later, when pressed by His disciples for an explanation of this parable, Jesus answered…

The one who sows the good seed is the Son of Man, the field is the world. As for the good seed, these are the people who belong to the Kingdom; the weeds are the people who belong to the Evil One. The enemy who sows them is the Adversary, the harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels.

Just as the weeds are collected and burned up in the fire, so will it be at the end of the age. The Son of Man will send forth his angels, and they will collect out of His Kingdom all the things that cause people to sin and all the people who are far from Torah [those practicing lawlessness]; and they will throw them into the fiery furnace, where people will wail and grind their teeth.

Then the righteous will shine forth like the sun in the Kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears, let him hear! Matthew 36-43.

According to Easton’s Bible Dictionary, the weed or tare referred to here is…

…the bearded darnel, mentioned only in Matthew 13:25-30. It is the Lolium temulentum, a species of ryegrass, the seeds of which are a strong soporific poison. It bears the closest resemblance to wheat till the ear appears, and only then the difference is discovered. It grows plentifully in Syria and Palestine.

Interestingly, the Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines soporific as…

…causing or tending to cause sleep; tending to dull awareness or alertness; of, relating to, or marked by sleepiness or lethargy.

These weren’t just any old Weeds, then, but ones belonging to the Evil One, whose purpose was to anaesthetize the Wheat—the kingdom people—in order to render them ineffective in their service to the King. In other words, while the kingdom people of our day have been sleeping, Satan has been busy planting people in their churches who look, talk, and act like believers but, in reality, are his Spiritual Drug Dealers, on mission to immobilize the people of God and stop the advancement of God’s Kingdom on the earth. How have they managed to do this? By using the same ploy that the Adversary has been using with great success ever since the Garden of Eden—by causing people to…

Doubt God’s Word;
Doubt God’s Goodness; and,
Replace the Truth with a Lie

For decades now, the Weeds have been whispering in the ears of the Wheat things like…

  • Do you really believe there is a hell? I mean, if God is Love, why would He ever send anyone to a place like that? And if God is so loving, why is there so much pain and suffering in the world?
  • I’m not sure there is only way one to be saved—isn’t that kind of a narrow way of thinking? I believe that as long as someone is a good person and is sincere in his beliefs, he will be saved in the end.
  • The Church really needs to be more relevant. Don’t you think that most people are turned off by all those old-fashioned sermons about the blood and the Cross? If we could just find out what people need and then try to satisfy those needs through some new programs, we could really pack these pews and see the Church grow.
  • I think the Church must become more inclusive. There are so many more options available to people now that we must learn to be more tolerant of those whose lifestyle choices are different from ours. We just need to live and let live, after all, truth isn’t the same for everyone.
  • I am so glad we’re no longer living under the law but under grace, and that sin isn’t the issue that it once was. I really don’t see anything wrong with sex outside of marriage and I can’t see why that would bother God either. After all, He created us with these needs and desires, and surely He wants us to be happy—so why would that be a problem? Besides, what difference does a piece of paper make when you’re in love?
  • Christians have no business getting involved in politics—it’s just such a dirty business! The Bible tells us that we are to be separate from the world, and it says right in our Constitution that we must maintain a separation between the Church and the State. Plus, political issues are so divisive that if we start addressing them from the pulpit, people will be offended and we could very well lose their financial support—possibly even our tax-exempt status! We do have bills to pay here, you know!

These and countless other subtleties have had a devastating effect on the Church. Under their influence, she has replaced worship with entertainment, Bible study and training in discipleship with support groups and popular book studies, prayer meetings and evangelism with suppers and group activities—and worst of all, the Presence and Power of the Holy Spirit with the Spirit of Religion! In the process, she has soiled her garments of righteousness, compromised her witness to the world, and lost sight of her mission and purpose. In short, she has become barely distinguishable from any other group in the world—much like the Laodicean church that Christ rebuked in Revelation 3:14-22…

To the angel of the Messianic Community in Laodicea, write: Here is the message from the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the Ruler of God’s creation: I know what you are doing: you are neither cold nor hot. How I wish you were either one or the other!

So, because you are lukewarm, neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you our of my mouth! For you keep saying, ‘I am rich, I have gotten rich, I don’t need a thing! You don’t know that you are the one who is wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked!

My advice to you is to buy from me gold refined by fire, so that you may be rich; and white clothing, so that you may be dressed and not have to be ashamed of your nakedness; and eye salve to rub on your eyes, so that you may see.

As for me, I rebuke and discipline everyone I love; so exert yourselves, and turn from your sins! Here, I am standing at the door, knocking. If someone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he will eat with me. I will let him who wins the victory sit with me on my throne, just as I myself also won the victory and sat down with my Father on his throne. Those who have ears, let them hear what the Spirit is saying to the Messianic communities.’

Don’t Hit the Snooze Button

With all the shaking that is currently going on around us, we should not be surprised to witness some radical changes taking place in our world in the very near future. That’s because God’s plumbline has been dropped, people have taken their positions, and the net is rapidly being readied for judgment. That makes this a time for soberness and reflection for us all, for…

…the time has come for judgment to begin. It begins with the household of God; and if it starts with us, what shall the outcome be for those who are disobeying God’s Good News? 1 Peter 4:17.

Given this, let’s take heed of the Apostle Paul’s admonition in Romans 13:11-14…

…you know at what point of history we stand; so it is high time for you to rouse yourselves from sleep; for the final deliverance is nearer than when we first came to trust. The night is almost over, the day is almost here.

So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and arm ourselves with the weapons of light. Let us live properly, as people do in the daytime—not partying and getting drunk, not engaging in sexual immorality and other excesses, not quarrelling and being jealous. Instead, clothe yourselves with the Lord Yeshua the Messiah; and don’t waste your time thinking about how to provide for the sinful desires of your old nature. Romans 13:11-14.

Hopefully, we can see that the time has come for the Wheat to wake up and get back at last to the business of being the People of God before the axe falls, for…

Already the axe is at the root of the trees, ready to strike; every tree that doesn’t produce good fruit will be chopped down and thrown in the fire. Matthew 3:10.

    So true. We need to wake up and live for the Kingdom of God is here. We are to live on earth as it is in Heaven. Fight for the Truth of the gospel and never lose hope. Thank you Judy for taking the time to write this and hopefully strike a fire in the hearts of those who read it!

      I hope so, too, Mary Jo! We’ve been here almost three years and still haven’t found a church–it is so sad! That spirit of religion really has a hold on the churches here–praying for a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit in this place, sooner rather than later!

    It is a shame that our country went through so much turmoil because of the death of George Floyd. It was all handled wrong. Sometimes police officers get to much stress and go to far when arresting people.

      Happy to hear that God is removing the veil from your eyes, Andrea. Please pray that He will do so with the many others who are still in a state of denial! Blessings, Judy
